Queen City Fair set to expand

By By Steve Gillespie / staff writer
May 27, 2002
The Queen City Fair is shaping up to be bigger than its inaugural run last year.
Len McRae, who runs Eventz Inc., of Meridian, is the organizer of the fair. He said two more days have been added to the event and the midway will be expanded to allow for more rides.
Tip Top Amusements of Tampa, Fla., will provide the rides and games along the midway again this year.
Although the admission price to the fair has not been finalized, McRae said many of the attractions at this year's fair will be covered in the cost of admission, including a petting zoo that was the most popular attraction last year.
McRae said organizing the fair was easier this year.
McRae is president of the Mississippi Fair Association, an organization involved in planning many of the state's fairs and festivals.
Like last last year, the Queen City Fair will overlap during the Mississippi State Fair in Jackson, but McRae said the schedules wouldn't be a conflict for fair-goers.
McRae also wants to see the commercial exhibits at the fair expand.
