McGrevey named Newton County Junior Miss

Mandy McGrevey will represent Newton County in the Mississippi's Junior Miss Program at the Temple Theatre in Meridian this August.
McGrevey won the Newton County Junior Miss program March 23 at Huff Auditorium in Decatur. She received a full scholarship to East Central Community College.
Six girls from Newton County competed in the program.
In addition to winning the title, McGrevey won preliminary awards in the areas of scholastic achievement, interviewing ability, poise and fitness for a total of $1,000 in cash scholarships.
The first runner-up, Mallory May, received a $300 cash scholarship and was also the talent preliminary winner.
A special recognition award for the "Spirit of Junior Miss" was presented to Lindsey Clanton. Clanton was also awarded the "Be Your Best Self" essay winner.
