Mr. and Mrs. Mickey May of Collinsville announce the engagement of their daughter, Michelle Lynn, to the Rev. William Dale Eakes, son of Mr. and Mrs. Grover Eakes of Meridian.
The wedding will be held Saturday, Nov. 3, 2001, at Pine Grove Church in Collinsville.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mamie Warren of Collinsville and the late Francis Warren of Meridian, and the late Homer and Louise May of Collinsville.
Miss May is a graduate of West Lauderdale High School and received her associate's degree in radiologic technology from Meridian Community College. While attending MCC, she was a member of Phi Theta Kappa, HOSA and MSRT.
Miss May is a registered technologist employed with H.C. Watkins Memorial Hospital in Quitman.
The bridegroom-elect is the grandson of the late Buck and Bea Flaherty of Meridian, the late Clifton and Virgie Eakes and the late Lois Fairchild Eakes of Meridian.
Rev. Eakes is a graduate of Meridian High School and served in the U.S. Navy for two years. He attended William Carey College, where he graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in psychology.
While at William Carey, he was a member of Phi Mu Alpha, Alpha Chi, the Psychology Club and the BSU.
He is currently serving as senior pastor at Pine Grove Baptist Church of Quitman and is pursuing his master's degree from Liberty Seminary in Virginia.
A reception will be held at the church following the ceremony. Family and friends are invited to attend.
