LOYD DOVE
Retired railroad engineer with Norfolk Southern Railways
COLUMBIA, La. Services for Loyd "Pete" Dove were held Friday, Sept. 7, at Bethany Baptist Church in Hebert with the Rev. Johnny Miller officiating. Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery in Princeton, Ind. Riser Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Dove, 78, of Columbia, formerly of Princeton, died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2001, at Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe, La. He was born in Meridian and was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Navy Seabees.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Dove of Columbia; a son, Stanley D. Dove of Princeton; three daughters, Barbara Skelton of Meridian, Susan Cunningham of Elberfield, Ind., and Teresa Koberstein of Princeton; three step-children, Donna Hensley of Butler, Ala., Rhonda Benton of Lepanto, Ark., and Shannon McClain of Carraway, Ark.; a brother-in-law, Tom Wolf of Hebert, La.; two sisters, Margaret Blackwell of Grayson, La., and Goldie Burwell of Meridian; 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and seven step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh Loyd and Minnie Dewitt Dove; his first wife, Alice Inez Catlett Dove; and a son, Michael David Dove.
LUCILLE MCNICHOLS
Services for Lucille McNichols will be held today at 11 a.m. at Spring Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Thurman Brazzle officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Latimer Metropolitan Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. McNichols, 98, of Union, died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2001, in Union.
WARRENE MOSLEY
NEWTON Services for Warrene Mosley will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel.
Mrs. Mosley, 78, of Decatur, died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2001, at Jackson Health Care Facility in Jackson, Ala.
Visitation will be Friday from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
MARY ROBINSON
Services for Mary "DT" Robinson will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Newell Chapel CME Church with the Rev. Gerald Hudson officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Latimer Metropolitan Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Robinson, 78, of Meridian, died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2001, at Riley Hospital.
Visitation will be Friday from 1 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
STELLA FREEMAN
Special education teacher
EVANSVILLE, Ind. Memorial services for Stella Freeman will be held at a later date in Meridian. Alexander Funeral Homes and Cemeteries is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Freeman, 81, died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2001, at St. Mary's Medical Center. She graduated from Mississippi University for Women with a degree in home economics. She worked with the Mississippi Extension Service. Mrs. Freeman received a master's degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. She taught special education in Meridian public schools from 1962-82. She was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa Educators Organization.
Mrs. Freeman was a member of Highland United Methodist Church in Meridian, where she was in the Recruiters Sunday school class. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women and attended the Methodist Temple in Evansville.
Survivors include two daughters, Gale Freeman Walker of Dallas and Claire Freeman Reinitz of Evansville; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Reinitz of Evansville; a sister, Natalie McInnis Summerour of Lucedale; and several sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Hurd Freeman, who died in 1961; and her parents, Richmond and Willie Margaret McLoud McInnis.
The family requests memorials be made to Highland United Methodist Church in Meridian.
