Woman accused of hitting son with car

A Russellville woman was arrested over the weekend after she ran into her son with her SUV following an argument.

Kristina Michelle Jackson, 35, 2424 Cave Hollow Rd., Russellville, was arrested on Saturday and charged with second-degree assault for domestic violence, Franklin County Sheriff Shannon Oliver said.

According to Oliver, sheriff’s deputies and investigators responded to a residence on Franklin 60 because a male victim had informed authorities that his mom had ran over him with her vehicle.

Investigators said the victim was observed limping and having trouble using his arm while they were at the scene.

According to reports, the victim stated he and his mother had gotten into an argument over a phone and she began assaulting him. When Jackson tried to leave the residence, her son tried to prevent her from leaving because she had been drinking alcohol.

While trying to prevent her from leaving, the victim stated his mother ran into him with her SUV causing him to roll on top of the hood of the vehicle and then onto the ground. The victim also stated his mother chased him around the yard in the car.

Authorities who responded to the residence said the mother was highly intoxicated and uncooperative, denying the vehicle had been driven.

Officers at the scene said the vehicle’s hood appeared to be very warm and there were skid marks and circles near the SUV where it appeared Jackson had driven around the yard, which corroborated the victim’s story.

Jackson was released from the Franklin County Jail on a $5,000 bond.
