Local players named All-Stars

MONTGOMERY – Sixty outstanding junior basketball players from all over the state have been named to the North-South teams for the 12th annual Alabama All-Star Sports Week competition in Huntsville July 14-18.
The two girls' teams and two boys' teams will square off in a Thursday doubleheader (July 17) beginning with the girls' tip-off at 6 p.m. at the University of Alabama-Huntsville gym. The boys' contest follows at 8 p.m.
Members of the North girls team are Kylie Black of Speake, Kellie Cook and Jala Harris of Bob Jones, Morgan Crawley of Brewer, Morgan Duncan of Red Bay, Karneshia Garrett of Wenonah, Danielle Johnson of Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa; LaKenya Lowe of Midfield, Chelsi Matthews of Glencoe, Jessica Merritt of Talladega, Paige Parker of Cold Springs, Bailee Robinson of Elkmont, Alex Strickland of Clay-Chalkville, and Danielle Vaughn and Adrienne Webb of Sparkman.
The North boys team members are Jermaine Bates of Russellville, Carlos Clayborn of Butler, Colby Cowen of Asbury, Antwon Jackson of J.O. Johnson, Kerron Johnson of Madison Academy, Tory Johnson of Wenonah, Verkenco Mann of Austin, Caleb Massey of Sulligent, Latraius Mosley of Tanner, Andy Pounders of Phillips, Jacobi Robertson of Homewood, Eric Russell of Huntsville, Jordan Swing of Vestavia Hills, Darnell Tuck of Talladega, and Torrean Walker of Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa.
