Tharptown boys get trio of wins

The Tharptown varsity boys knocked off Addison, Colbert Heights and Lindsay Lane last week.

Edwin Vela led the Wildcats to a 54-24 win over Lindsay Lane on Saturday.

Veal scored 16 points in the win.

Tharptown doubled up Lindsay Lane in the first quarter 14-7 and took a 23-14 lead into the halftime locker room. The Wildcats extended their lead to 42-20 at the end of the third quarter and put the game away in the fourth.

Following Vela, Dylan Valdez scored nine points, Jackson Clement eight points, Malachi Minor seven points, Uriah Thompson six points, Dalton Maldonado five points, Bryson Borden two points and Israel de la Rosa one point.

Tharptown beat Colbert Heights 57-30. The Wildcats wasted no time putting this game away, taking a 26-8 first quarter lead and extending to 44-12 at halftime.

Valdez led Tharptown with 19 points, followed by Vela with 13 points. Minor added seven points, de la Rosa six points, Maldonado five points, Clement four points and Thompson three points.

Tharptown started the week with a win over Addison.

Maldonado led with 17 points, followed by Minor with 14 points and Valdez with 10 points. Clement added eight points, Dawson Higgins three points, Vela three points and Borden two points.
