Mountain View Baptist Church serves free Thanksgiving dinners

Mountain View Baptist Church in Phil Campbell is serving free Thanksgiving meals Nov. 23 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The meals can be delivered (within a 15-mile radius of the church) or picked up at the church.

Register online at mtviewbaptistchurch.org by clicking on the Connect tab, then the Registrations tabs, or call the church at 205-993-4610. The church is located at 2110 Highway 81, Phil Campbell, Ala. 35581. There is a limit of six meals per residence.

“Last year, we served 576 meals,” explained the church’s pastor, Sammy Taylor, “which is 110 more than we did the year before. Mountain View Baptist Church is always excited to do ministry in our community and the local cities nearby.”

Taylor said this year is the 23rd for the church to provide Thanksgiving meals to those who would otherwise not be enjoying the holiday to its fullest.

“It’s a joy to see the excitement on the faces of those who receive a meal in Jesus’ name and also to have the opportunity to stand in the doorway and pray with them. We look forward as a Faith family to serve our Lord by serving others. To God be the glory!”
