Burton, Thompson

Ray and Pam Burton of Meridian announce the engagement of their daughter, Brandy Rene, to Scotty Thompson, son of Dorothy Durham of Satsuma, Ala., and Bobby Thompson of Chatom, Ala.
The wedding will be Saturday, Oct. 19, 2002, at 6 p.m. at Briarwood Baptist Church in Meridian.
Miss Burton is the granddaughter of Dean Boyette of Meridian and the late Claude Boyette; Joy Littrell of Philadelphia and the late Leo Littrell.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Northeast Lauderdale High School and received a bachelor's degree in accounting from University of West Alabama, where she graduated magna cum laude.
While at UWA, she was a member of the varsity cheerleading squad, Blue Key Honor Fraternity, Omicron Delta Kappa Honor Society, Livingston's Loveliest and named Miss UWA.
Miss Burton is a senior accountant with Kimberly Clark Corporation.
Mr. Thompson is the grandson of Lyman Tate of Millry, Ala., Margie Whitten of Satsuma, Bessie Thompson of Chatom, Ala., and the late Leslie Thompson.
The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Washington County High School and received a bachelor's degree in environmental science from the University of West Alabama.
A reception will be held at The Meridian Little Theatre following the ceremony.
Family and friends are invited to attend.
