Russellville woman indicted on statutory rape charge

A 29-year-old Russellville woman was indicted by a recent grand jury on statutory rape charges for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old boy, officials said.

Natasha Bridges, 29, 100 Westside Plaza, Apt. 121, Russellville, was indicted by the September grand jury for second-degree rape and electronic solicitation of a minor, Franklin County District Attorney Joey Rushing said.

Records show ridges was originally arrested on Feb. 22.

Russellville Police Chief Chris Hargett said the police department received a report on that afternoon stating there was a possible inappropriate relationship between Bridges and the juvenile.

Hargett said during the investigation, officers were able to determine that the two had been involved in a sexual relationship since January.

“Bridges had been allowing the victim’s family to stay with her while they were trying to find a place to live and that’s when the relationship started,” Hargett said.

He added that the charge of electronic solicitation of a minor came from nude pictures Bridges allegedly sent to the minor during this time as well.

Hargett said Bridges admitted to the relationship during questioning and was formally charged.

Rushing said an Oct. 29 arraignment date has been set for Bridges’ case.
