William Wesley “Wes” Griffus, 90, died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013, at Red Bay Hospital.

He was born Dec. 25, 1922, in Marion County, and was a farmer. He was a member of Red Bay Church of God.

Funeral Services were Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013, at Deaton Funeral Home chapel, Red Bay, with Bro. Gary Puckett and Bro. Brian Sutton officiating. Burial was in Shottsville Cemetery.

Survivors are four children, Shirley Juanell Michael, Vina, Bobby Ray Griffus and wife, Teresa, Greenhill, Janette “Jan” Sutton, Florence, and Jackie Waymon Griffus, Red Bay; five grandchildren, Brian and Jason Sutton, Cyndy Cohen, Tisha Vanderbeck and Mikey Michael; five great-grandchildren, Taylor, Will, MaKayla, Kennan and Zoe and one sister, Victoria Duncan, of Michigan.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby J. Emerson Griffus and seven brothers and sisters, Lonar, Myrtle, Micky, Minerva Jane, Bryce, Victor and Marlon.
