Hoyt Lee McKinney

Hoyt Lee McKinney went to be with the Lord May 8 at age 84.

He is survived by one daughter, Dewana McKinney (Ronnie) Campbell; two grandchildren, Trevin Lee (Dayna) Campbell and Trenton Lee Campbell; two great-grandchildren, Colton Brooks Campbell and Brylee Pate Campbell; nieces, nephews and other extended family; and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Amye Lee McKinney; his parents, Grover Lee and Flora Thorn McKinney; and siblings, James McKinney and Loree (Bill) Hinton.

He retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad after 33 years of service. Hoyt was a member of Woodlawn/Roebuck Church of Christ for 40 years and was a current member of Decatur Highway Church of Christ. He was loved by his family and will be missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be May 11 from 10 a.m. until noon at The New Gardendale Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at noon, with burial at Mt. Olive Cemetery.
