Russellville Reads: RPL resumes weekly programs

Remember, remember, it’s nearly September! That means RPL will be hosting monthly programming once again.

Every first Friday of the month, join us at 10:30 a.m. for bilingual story time hosted by Mrs. Perla. Then at 3:30 p.m., come on out for game day. The library has a nice inventory of board and tabletop games available for all ages.

Every second Saturday the library has a family movie at 11 a.m., and every third Thursday the library holds an adult program in the common area.

Thanks to some generous community donations, the library now has a beautiful coffee bar. Feel free to grab a cup while browsing our magazine and newspaper collection.

The library book sale has been extended until Sept. 5. If you haven’t had a chance to view our gently-used books, stop by this week. Everything is priced to move, and all proceeds go to the Friends of the Library organization that assists with library programming and collection needs.

The library will be hosting some exciting new classes this fall. Details are still forthcoming, but as always, our schedule is posted on the library’s website at www.russellvillepubliclibrary.com.

Don’t forget, as part of the Alabama Bicentennial 200-year celebration, the library offers free access to Ancestry.com, library edition. If you’ve been wanting to follow your family tree back to the roots but don’t want to spend an arm and a leg in doing so, stop by and see us!

As a reminder, the library now offers eBooks and audio MP3s for your convenience. If you don’t have a new library card, come pick one up.

Check us out on our new website, www.russellvillepubliclibrary.com, and on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat for up-to-date information.
