FCSO nabs man wanted by U.S. marshals
A high-speed chase June 7 ended in one arrest by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.
According to authorities, Franklin County investigators were in the area of Mountain Star when a white pick-up truck flew about at high speed, mid-after June 7. Officers pursued the vehicle and attempted to make a traffic stop.
“The truck, instead of pulling off the side of the road, sped off and reached some high, unsafe speeds, not stopping at all intersections,” the FCSO reported.
The investigators continue to pursue the driver down Highway 60, and the suspect reportedly continued to fail to stop at any intersections, nearly being hit at the intersection with Highway 43, before finally wrecking his vehicle just before coming to Cave Hollow Road.
The sheriff’s office arrested J.K. Abbott Jr., formerly of Phil Campbell, on charges of reckless endangerment and resisting arrest; in addition, FCSO investigators discovered an old meth lab, used ingredients from meth production and all the necessary ingredient for meth production upon searching the suspect’s truck and also charged him with manufacturing of a controlled substance first degree.
FCSO found out later that Abbott was also wanted by U.S. Marshals. He is being held in the Franklin County Jail.
