The Key Chapter of the American Red Cross is asking for donations of $35 for postage to send "care packages" to military men and women stationed overseas.
The packages contain toiletries, Wet-Ones, eye wash, hand sanitizer, candy, snacks, flea collars to repel sand fleas, books and magazines.
Cheri Barry, executive director of the local Red Cross chapter, said an "Adopt-A-Box" campaign has been initiated.
Barry said she hopes to mail more than 500 packages.
Donations are tax-deductible and can be made in person at the Key Chapter of the American Red Cross, 1711 24th Ave., or by mail to: The Key Chapter, American Red Cross, P.O. Box 205, Meridian, MS 39302. Donations also may be made online at www.redcross-keychapter.org.
