>Area Roundup: Wildcats pick up another baseball win

The Meridian High School baseball team (19-7) extended its winning streak to eight games with a 14-1 win on the road over Wayne County Saturday afternoon. Justin Scott (1-0) picked up the win in his first start of the season and collected six strikeouts.
Taylor Scarbrough led the way with two hits and two RBIs, while Ken Mitts added a double and triple. Lindsey Spinks added a double and two RBIs for the Wildcats.
Meridian returns to action at 7 p.m. Monday at Q.V. Sykes Park against Neshoba Central in the team's final home game of the regular season.

Clarkdale 0
The Bulldogs only managed three hits in a seven-run loss on the road at Wayne County. Kyle Boswell and Michael Davis led the way at the plate for Clarkdale with one double apiece.
Clarkdale (14-8) returns to action Monday at Newton.

Wilcox Academy 0
Patrician's Kylie Lewis (3-3) tossed her second no-hitter of the year as the Lady Saints blanked Wilcox Saturday.
Lewis went 2-for-3 at the plate with a pair of singles. Emily Harry had one single and drove in a pair of runs.
Patrician improved to 11-7 overall and 4-0 in AISA Region 2A-West and will go to Toxey Tuesday to take on South Choctaw Academy in another region matchup.
