PHILADELPHIA Graveside services for Peyton Mitchell Matthews will be held today at 4 p.m. at Beatline Cemetery with the Rev. Ben McDaniel officiating. McClain-Hays Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
Infant Matthews, died Sunday, Oct. 6, 2002, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
Survivors include his parents, Derik Matthews and Sherrie Payne, both of DeKalb; paternal grandparents, Gary and Janice Matthews of Philadelphia; and his maternal grandparents, Glen and Leslie Payne of Meridian.

NEWTON Services for George C. "Junior" Stamper will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Pouncey officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Stamper, 72, of Newton, died Saturday, Oct. 5, 2002, at Rush Foundation Hospital. He retired after more than 21 years with ESCO as an electrician. He was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his four daughters, Sue Roberts of Otter Lake, Mich., Sarah Symond of Foley, Ala., Georgia Monk of Newton and Patty Goodwin of Meridian; five sons, Mike Stamper of Axis, Ala., Todd Stamper of Foley, James Evans of Chunky, Doug Holston of Citronelle, Ala., and Bruce Holston of Detroit; 33 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Warren Holston; his parents, George McAllister and Sarah Loper Stamper.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Gaines, Earnie Poston, Dale Cornwell, Louis Foley, Edward Crawford and Larry Loper.
Visitation will be today 6 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Graveside services for Ruth A. Davis will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Old Marion Cemetery with the Rev. Davey Wilkinson officiating. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Davis, 91, of Meridian, died Monday, Oct. 8, 2002, in her home. She was a member of Marion Methodist Church and the Eastern Star.
Survivors include her daughters, Delores Davis Hasselle and her husband, Frank, of Meridian, Ruth Elliot Davis of Marion and Joanne Lummus and her husband, Carl Reed, of Meridian; 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ernest Roach of Huntsville, Ala.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph J. "Pete" Roach; and a daughter, Jane Davis Callahan.
Visitation will be today 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

DEKALB Services for Shanta L. Drane will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at New Prospect Baptist Church in Meridian with the Rev. Eddie B. Cryer officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. E.E. McDonald Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Drane, 27, of Meridian, died Thursday, Oct. 3, 2002, at University Medical Center in Jackson.
Survivors include her children, Zakia, Zocquiel and Ziarire Drane, and her parents, William and Willie Mae Chambliss, all of Meridian; her grandmothers, Rosetta Chambliss of Meridian and Jean Thomas of Douglas, Ga.; and several other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, and her grandfathers.
Visitation will be Wednesday beginning at 9 a.m. at the church.
