The Mississippi Association of Coaches has announced its 2001 all-state baseball teams for each of the Mississippi High School Activities Association's five classifications with 18 area players being selected for that honor.
Making the Class 3A team from the 3A state champion West Lauderdale Knights are seniors Todd Doolittle and Brad McKee. Doolittle has signed with Meridian Community College. Also on the 3A team is senior Mario Thomas of Forest. Class 3A only had enough nominations for one team while the other four classes had a first and second team picked.

Seniors Craig Martin and Jake Nester and sophomore Eric Watkins, along with Noxapater senior Nijel Young were among the first team picks. Martin will play for Mississippi College next year, while Nester has signed with East Central Community College.
