Nobles, Chambers

Mr. and Mrs. Donald E. Nobles of Meridian announce the engagement of their daughter, Jennifer Alecia, to the Rev. Philip Gary Chambers, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Chambers of Athens, Ga.
The wedding will be held Saturday, March 16, 2002, at 2 p.m. at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Birmingham, Ala.
Dr. Nobles is the granddaughter of Varnetta W. Dismukes of Chicksaw, Ala., and the late Walter Malcolm Dismukes; the Mr. and Mrs. William Bartie Nobles of Ellisville.
She was valedictorian of Meridian High School in 1988 and received a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Furman University in Greenville, S.C.
Afterwards, she attended Tulane University and receive her medical doctor's degree and a master of public health and tropical medicine. She completed a pediatric residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and is currently a pediatrician at the Children's Hospital of Alabama in Birmingham.
The bridegroom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Philip R. White of Reading, Maine, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Tyrus V. Chambers of Athens, Ga.
The Rev. Chambers is a 1986 graduate of Athens Christian High School in Athens, Ga. He attended Samford University in Birmingham and received a bachelor's degree in marketing.
He received a master of divinity degree at Beason Divinity School in Birmingham. He then spent two years with Mission to the World in Brisbane, Australia. He is currently an associate pastor at Oak Mountain Presbyterian Church in Birmingham.
