Bessie Jane Harrell, 75, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at her daughter’s residence in Mississippi after a long battle with brain cancer.

Jane was born on August 9, 1936, to Troy and Fannie Jones of Russellville. She married John Douglas Harrell, of Rotan, Texas, on April 16, 1961.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012, at Spry Memorial Chapel.  Burial will be at Tharptown Cemetery.

She is survived by one daughter, Janet Harrell Parker and husband, Wayne, Holly Springs, Miss.; two grandchildren, Aaron and Justin Parker; three sisters, Ardis Woodruff, Russellville, Sue Sherbart and husband, Billy, Russellville, Linda Edgar and husband Kenneth, Hattieburg, Miss.; five brothers, Sam Jones and wife, Vera, Russellville, Ralph Jones and wife, Lena, Muscle Shoals, Jay Jones, Byhalia, Miss., Donald Jones and wife, Mary, Russellville, John Paul Jones and wife, Liz, Romeoville, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Harrell; sons, Bruce Harrell, Glen Harrell; parents, Troy and Fannie Jones; brothers, Royce Jones and Raymond Jones.
