Five arrested in meth bust
Law enforcement officials put their new plans to crack down on drug activity into action this weekend when a community tip led to the arrest of five county residents on drug charges.
Kristi Blackburn, 37, 898 Franklin 80, Russellville; Rhonda Gail Patton, 29, 5625 County Line Rd., Russellville; Rodger Patton, 56, 5625 County Line Rd. Russellville; Denise Miller, 40, 1984 Franklin 81, Phil Campbell; and Jonathan Kent, 40, 2024 Franklin 81, Phil Campbell were all charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, Franklin County Sheriff Shannon Oliver said.
According to Oliver, investigators received information and complaints stating that several people were selling methamphetamine on County Line Road.
Oliver said during the course of the investigation, officers found 30 grams of meth at the County Line Road residence on Saturday night that would have had a street value of $3,000.
Oliver said drug paraphernalia was also found at the residence.
“We meant it when we said that we would be taking any complaint of drug activity seriously,” Oliver said. “We’ll investigate these complaints and do our best to get those who are found to be involved with drugs off the streets.
“Franklin County has a problem that must be addressed and the law enforcement officials in the area are doing everything we can to fix this problem.”
Oliver said the investigation in this case is still ongoing.
