Meridian High School head football coach Bill Sartin, who resigned his position last week, picked up his share of victories in his four years at Meridian High School on the way to a 26-21 record. His Wildcats only played three schools all four years he was at the helm at MHS.
By far Sartin's best success came against Natchez High School as he posted a 4-0 record against that school and his Wildcats outscored them a whopping 148-19. Sartin's Cats were 1-3 against both Starkville and Brandon. The Sartin-led Wildcats were 3-0 against Forest Hill and 0-2 against Moss Point, both losses coming playoff games.Sartin's teams were 4-2 against other teams from The Meridian Star coverage area, beating Louisville the only time they played, downing Noxubee County twice and going 1-2 against Wayne County.

North continues its recent roll
The 28-14 win by the North over the South in the MPSA All-Star Football Game on Friday night gave the North seven wins in the last eight season.
Before the run of success began for the North in 1994 with a 27-11 win, the South had won six straight.
