Triple double keys Kemper County
Kemper County got a triple-double from Kenny Boyd to beat West Point 76-66 on Thursday night in prep boys basketball action.
Boyd scored 10 points, passed out 12 assists and grabbed 22 rebounds to pace Kemper County who improved to 2-0.
Terrance Westerfield scored 21 points to lead the Wildcats' scoring. Chris Davis had 16 and Kendrick Benamen had nine points.
Kemper led 20-12 after one quarter and 38-34 at the half. Kemper then scored 23 in the third quarter to extend the lead to 61-45
Scott Central whips Morton
Scott Central whipped Morton 56-33 on Thursday night in girls basketball action.
Brittany Burks tossed in 25 points to lead Scott Central. Katie Nickson had 16. Scott Central improves to 6-1 with the win.
Morton was led by Makeba Evans with 19 points. Rachel Jenkins had 10.

RUSH CLASSIC CHAMPIONS The MYSO Explosion won four straight games to capture the 2001 Rush Classic Under-14 girls championship. Members of the team are, Vanessa Uhl, Amber Mowdy, Sarah Hammes, Lindsay Tingle, and Brittany Uhl, Rebecca Savoy, Jennifer Taylor, Bonnie Goodwin, Nicole Jenkins, Mary Elizabeth Futrell, Sheniece Presley, Andrea Aviles and Sky Tindall. Also coach Tom Uhl.
