Doris Clements Cole, 83, of Golden, Miss., died Sunday, October 23, 2011 at Generations of Red Bay.  She was born September 20, 1928 in Red Bay, Ala. to Roley Erastus Clements and Lona Jackson Clements.  She graduated from Red Bay High School and later earned a degree from Auburn University.  She worked briefly in Florence, Ala., married and returned home to her family farm in Itawamba County, Miss. where she has resided for 52 years.  She loved working outside on her farm and especially loved working with her cows.  She loved to read and make a vegetable garden every year.  She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Funeral services were held Friday, October 28, 2011 at First United Methodist Church, Red Bay with Bro. Buster Timmons officiating.  Burial was in Red Bay City Cemetery.  Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, Ala. assisted the family.
She is survived by four children, Marian E. Cole, Gayle M. Cole and James A. Cole, all of Golden, and G. Copeland Cole, of Houston, Texas; her granddaughter, Kelly Cole Vick and husband, Anthony; great-grandchildren, Albert Lee Vick and Chloe Vick; and her special friends, Robert “Pops” Ray and Sharon Lindley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gordon A. Cole; and her great-granddaughter, Kimberly Vick.
Pallbearers were Joey Allen, Joe Beasley, Hal Keeton, Anthony Vick, Scott Stanphill and John Robert Cashion.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Weatherford Library, Red Bay, Ala. or First United Methodist Church, Red Bay, Ala.
