RICHTON Applications are being accepted for the Mississippi Pecan Festival's 2001 Gospel Talent Show, which is scheduled for Sept. 30.

TODAY
A garage sale will be held from 7 a.m.-10 a.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church.
No clothing will be sold. All proceeds will go to the church.

Independent Missionary Baptist Church will present an End of Summer Carnival at Holt Field (between 15th and 16th streets and Ninth Avenue.)
The day will include a 3K Run for Jesus at 7 a.m., a talent show at 1 p.m., a gospel showcase at 2 p.m., games, pony rides, food and more.

DEKALB The congregation of Brown Ridge Baptist Church will celebrate the 11th anniversary of the church's pastor, the Rev. Bennie J. Hopkins Sr., beginning with a pre-musical program at 6 p.m.
Special guest choirs will be the W.C. Griffin Singers of St. John Missionary Baptist Church, the Grace Baptist Church Choir, the Porterville Community Male Chorus and the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church Mass Choir.
The celebration will climax Sunday with a program at 2:30 p.m. featuring the Rev. Stanley Coleman, pastor of New Canaan Baptist Church. Coleman's church choir will be special guest.
A gospel program featuring several groups will be presented at 7:30 p.m. at New Beginning Holiness Church.
On program will be The Moore Family of Quitman, The Struggling Travelers of Alabama, The Echoes of Zion of Butler, Ala., The Joyful Aires of Union, The Spiritual Angels and The Mississippi Harmoneers, both of Meridian, as well as other groups, soloists and choirs.

SUNDAY
LISMAN, Ala. The congregation of Greater First Baptist Church will recognize the second anniversary of the church's pastor, the Rev. Wayne M. Benn.
Morning worship will begin at 11, with the Rev. Robert Turner, assistant pastor of First Baptist Church in Livingston, Ala., as guest speaker. Dinner will be served.
A Pastor's Anniversary Program will begin at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Jessie Benn, pastor of First Baptist Church in Epes, Ala., as guest speaker.
The McRae's will be in concert at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. at Collinsville First Church of God.
The Waynesboro natives have appeared in several Gaither videos and completed a nine-month tour with Mark Lowry. The have opened for groups such as The Crabb Family, Jeff and Sheri Easter and The Gaither Vocal Band. The sisters, who recently signed with Family Music Group, will sing their hit song "He Bore My Burdens for Me," as well as other favorites.

HALSELL, Ala. The Seven Seals Program will be held at John the Baptist Church at 6 p.m.
STONEWALL Stonewall Church of God's annual revival will begin and continue through Wednesday, with the Rev. James Hopson of Tomola Church of God in Lauderdale as guest speaker.
Services will begin Sunday at noon; dinner will be served afterward. Services will be held Monday through Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. "The Family" will be the theme.
The church is located at 334 Rhodes St.
Pleasant Grove Baptist Church's Annual Senior and Junior Usher Board Program will be held at 2:30 p.m.
The Rev. Zacary Finley, pastor of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, as guest speaker. "Ushers United in Christ Psalm 24:7" will be the theme for the program.

Circle No. 2 Mission Circle of Sunlight Baptist Church will host their Annual Day at 3 p.m.
Bobbie Adams will be guest speaker. "It's All About Leading People to Christ Jesus" is the theme.
THURSDAY
In accordance with the church's observance of Single's Month during September, the Singles Ministry of First Apostolic Church will host a two-night revival.
Speakers will be the church's pastors, the Revs. Dennis E. Huggins Jr. and Pearl R. Huggins. Services will begin at 7:30 each evening.
Coming up …
The Singles Ministry of First Apostolic Church will host "For Singles Only" seminars on Sept. 8, beginning at 9 a.m. at the church.
Conducting the seminar will be the Rev. Rick August of Biloxi. The session is open to singles ages 12 and up. Registration is $5 and includes a care package, entrance to all seminars and a light lunch.
LOST GAP Hickory-based gospel group The Ridgeways will be in concert Sept. 8 at 7 p.m. at Lost Gap Independent Protestant Church.

MAGNOLIA, Ala. The Seven Seals Program will be held Sept. 9 at Pleasant Hill AME Church at 6 p.m.
Fall revival will be held Sept. 10-14 at St. Luke Baptist Church.
The Rev. William "Bumper" Harper, pastor of Savannah Grove Baptist Church, will be guest speaker. Services will begin at 7:30 p.m.
Revival will be held Sept. 16-19 at Oakland Heights Baptist Church. Billy Smith will be guest evangelist.
The church is located at 4718 Fifth St.
PRESTON The congregation of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate the second anniversary of the church's pastor, the Rev. Barron Banks, on Sept. 16 at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Guest speakers will be the Rev. Alfonso Clark, pastor of Zion City Missionary Baptist Church in Tchula, at 11 a.m., and the Rev. W.L. Hightower, pastor of New Zion Baptist Church in Louisville, at 3 p.m.
The church is located on Highway 21 (3.5 miles from Preston on Highway 21).
A Youth Choir Day will be held Sept. 16 at 3 p.m. at St. Luke Baptist Church. Local and area choirs are encouraged to participate.
BUTLER, Ala. The Seven Seals Program will be held Sept. 16 at Paradise Baptist Church at 6 p.m.
VOSSBURG The Seven Seals Program will be held Sept. 23 at Salem Baptist Church at 6 p.m.
Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church's Annual Fall Revival will be held Sept. 24-28. Services will begin at 7:30 each evening.
The church is located at 1012 26th Ave. South.
BUTLER, Ala. The Seven Seals Program will be held Sept. 30 at Morning Star Baptist Church at 6 p.m.
