Barney Lee Blackburn

Barney Lee Blackburn, 84, of Vina, Ala. died Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Helen Keller Hospital.  He was a native of Franklin County, Ala. and a diesel mechanic.  He was a member of Burnout Missionary Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 11, 2011 at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, Ala. with Bro. Dan Hindman officiating.  Burial was in Burnout Cemetery.

He is survived by six children, Dwight Blackburn and wife, Jerri, of Caledonia, Miss., Brenda Thorn and husband, Gene, of Red Bay, Ala., Norris Blackburn and wife, Wanda and Kenny Blackburn, all of Burnout, Ala., Charles Blackburn and wife, Patti, of Columbia, Tenn. and Leisha Inman, of Muscle Shoals, Ala.; four brothers, Guy Blackburn, of Burnout, Ala., Noble Blackburn, of Russellville, Ala., Raymon Blackburn, of Halltown, Ala. and Larry Blackburn, of Muscle Shoals, Ala.; one sister, Clyneice Ledbetter, of Red Bay, Ala.; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 1 step-great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Lee and Floy Thorn Blackburn.

Pallbearers were Michael Shewbart, Paul Blackburn, Cody Inman and Mike Smith.
