Leontyne Lacey of Meridian and Lee Anderson of Tupelo were married Saturday, June 16, 2001, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. Eddie Jones officiating.
Parents of the couple are Georgia Chambers, John Laffitte and Ezra and Gertia Anderson.
Grandparents of the bride are Rhonda Lacey and the late George Lacey, and the late Frank and Louise Laffitte.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are Otha Anderson and the late Harbour Anderson, and the late Leroy and Sarah Weddington.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Justin Gray, guitarist; Darnell Wilson, saxophonist; and Nikki Terrell, pianist.
The bride was given in marriage by her uncle, Clyde McGill. She wore a satin sleeveless gown enhanced with a full french tulle skirt. The top of the bodice was inlaid with pearls of daisy design. Buttons extended down the entire length of the back of the gown.
Maid of honor was Angelia McCann of Meridian and Precious Harrison of Atlanta. Other attendants were Nikkita Johnson of Brunswick, Ga., Mytheia Thomas of Detroit, Mich., Laverne Hampton of Butler, Ala., Lasicillie Chambers of Meridian and Charita Johnson of Montgomery, Ala.
Flower girls were Pa'sant August of Waynesboro and Maya Johnson of Montgomery.
Kelvin Anderson of Huntsville, Ala., served as best man. Groomsmen and ushers were Jeremy McGill and Christopher Lacey of Waynesboro, Andr Hill of Baton Rouge, Howard Stewart of Jackson, Reginald Stewart of Waynesboro, Clark Adams and Philip Anderson, both of DeKalb. Johnathan Lacey of Buckatunna was ring bearer.
Bubbles and bells attendant was Ann Gordon. Program attendants were Alise Jones and Reshanda Lacey.
A reception was held at Union Station following the ceremony. Assisting were Saphronya Laffitte, Danielle West, Mattie Summerville, Sophia Evins, Alice Jones, Monique Larkin, Keandra Larkin, Lynzzie Williamson, Carol Williamson and Ann Adams.
After a honeymoon in West Palm Beach and Nassau, Bahamas, the couple resides in Tupelo.
