Lea Marcella Davis of Meridian and Thomas Leland McCracken of Midland, Texas, were married Saturday, July 14, 2001, at noon at First Christian Church in Meridian, with the Revs. Larry Bruce Metzger and Daniel Dean Deleon officiating.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Lee Rothenberg Meyer Jr. of Meridian, Mr. and Mrs. George Frederick Davis of Madison and Mr. and Mrs. Roger Tipton McCracken of McKinney, Texas.
Grandparents of the bride are Mrs. Conan Doyle Kerby and Mrs. Lee Rothenberg Meyer Sr., both of Meridian, and Mr. and Mrs. George Leslie Davis of Thomastown.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Dr. Manley Blackwell, organist; Patricia Burrow Boyd, Elizabeth Ann Herron and Michelle Williams Mayfield, vocalists.
The bride was presented in marriage by her stepfather. She wore a gown of ivory English net over satin. The gown was fashioned with a heavily embroidered champagne satin empire bodice and tiny straps. The gown's slim silhouette flowed into a train trimmed with a hand-sewn, patterned satin edge. Her veil was a single tier of English net held in place with ivory porcelain and pearl clips. The bride's bouquet featured white and cream roses accented with lily-of-the valley.
Maid of honor was Meridith Ann Rea of Meridian. Matron of honor was Melissa Long Davis of Columbus, sister-in-law of the bride. Other attendants were Lauren McDonald Autry and Karen McDonald Goodman, both of Meridian and cousins of the bride.
Alyssa Glynn Goodman of Meridian was flower girl. Honorary attendants were Jennifer Leigh Barnes, Melissa Kate Pearce and Hailey Elizabeth Wile, all of Meridian, and Kristen Elizabeth Coe, Anya Kristina Garcia, Joyce Ann Heckman, Katherine Elizabeth Hostler, MaryAnn Harris Means and Jennifer Lois Osborne, all of Fort Worth, Texas.
The father of the bridegroom served as best man. Groomsmen were Adam Kerby Davis of Columbus, brother of the bride, Jason Brands Huggins of Midland, nephew of the bridegroom, and Robert Cecil McCracken of Houston, Texas, brother of the bridegroom.
Ushers were William James Autry, Billy Ray Goodman Jr. and Kerby Brian McDonald, cousins of the bride and all of Meridian.
Crucifer was Rachel Leigh Busler. Torch bearers were Jeffrey Todd Swanson and Meagan Elizabeth Scott. Brooke Emily Morgan served as acolyte. Hannah Eleanor Ford and Theo Hummer were program attendants.
A reception was held at Northwood Country Club, with entertainment by Kabana, following the ceremony. Assisting at the reception were Mrs. Phillip Brooks, Mr. and Mrs. Deaton Gannaway, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mayfield, Mrs. Charles Rea and Mr. and Mrs. James Williamson.
After a honeymoon in New York City and Stowe, Vt., the couple will reside in Washington, D.C.
