A Phil Campbell man faces manufacturing charges after state troopers found a working methamphetamine lab in his car during a driver's license check over the weekend.
ABI Agent Lt. Marc McCormick said Marty Dewayne Beasley, 31, of 4067 Franklin 20 in Phil Campbell, was charged with first-degree manufacturing of a controlled substance after officials found a meth lab in his vehicle.
"The lab was found during a routine driver's license check on County Line Road in Franklin County," McCormick said.
Beasley was also charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia as a result of the traffic stop.
According to the Alabama Criminal Code, first-degree manufacturing a controlled substance is a Class A felony, which carries a punishment of 20 years to life in prison upon conviction.
After his arrest, Beasley was booked into the Franklin County Detention Center, where he was later released on $14,500 bond.
