PACHUTA Sonny Atwood has received some strange calls during his nearly 28 years as chief of the Pachuta Volunteer Fire Department. But the one that came in early Thursday morning may top them all.
An alligator, said to be 11 feet long, had been run over just west of the Harmony community. However, Atwood said the animal was very much alive when he got there.
The gator was seriously injured but could still move. It took the game warden two shots to the head to finally kill it.
