Russellville perfect in area play

The Russellville varsity boys basketball team wrapped up area play Thursday night with a 72-58 victory at Athens to finish with a 6-0 record in area contests.
Terence Smith scored a game-high 19 points for Russellville while Jermaine Bates scored 16 and Micah McCulloch added 13.
Also scoring for the Golden Tigers were Will Bostick (9), Nate Dunstan (5) Darrian Graham (5), Mark Davis (3) and Chase Johnson (2).

Red Bay 35
Adam Mitchell scored a game-high 17 points Thursday while Lawrence Butts added 15 to lead Phil Campbell past Red Bay 61-35.
Also scoring for the Bobcats were Jordan Benford (9), Pablo Santiago (8), Matt Waid (5), Austin Nix (4), Bailey Welborn (2) and Josh Brannon (2).
Scoring for Red Bay were Corey Timbs (11), Steven Nabors (8), Curtis Morrell (6), Cody Reynolds (5), Chase Lindsey (3) and Andy Thorn (2).

Phil Campbell 50
Phil Campbell led by one point after the first quarter, but Red Bay took control of the game in the second to pull away for a 64-50 victory against the Lady Bobcats Thursday.
Morgan Duncan scored a game-high 21 points for Red Bay while Caitlyn Childers scored 15 and Britton Bolding added 11.
Also scoring for the Lady Tigers were Hannah Sharp (5), Leah Fuller (4), Morgan McKinney (3), Shantell Nichols (3) and Kirsten Sharp (2).
Ciara Harville led Phil Campbell with 11 points while Jessica Taylor added 10. Also scoring for the Lady Bobcats were Whitley Yocum (8), Tiffany Miller (6), Ashley Jones (6), Caden Pruit (4), Tatum Benford (3) and Sarah Hilliard (2).
