Young Alabama singer captures Jimmie Rodgers trophy

Kristen Bell of Aliceville, Ala., captured the overall youth trophy of the Jimmie Rodgers Memorial Festival talent contest Saturday.
Bell, 13, sang "American Trilogy" to an audience gathered at Bonita Lakes Mall. Along with first place, Bell performed during Saturday's Jimmie Rodgers Festival show which was held at the Temple Theatre.
The competition drew 41 entries in three divisions,
Haley Nichole Williams of Meridian won the 12-14 age division with her singing of "Who Am I?" Holli Mosley of Mobile, Ala., came in second with her song, "Cowboy's Sweetheart."
Andrea Danielle Williams of Leakesville sang "On The Side of Angels" to win the 9-11 age division. Coming in second was Joseph Lemay of Dyersburg, Tenn., who sang the "Oh Lonesome Me Medley,"
In the 6-8 age division, first place went to Marisa Potate of Meridian, who sang "Tomorrow." Jared Chapman of Butler, Ala., was second with "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy."
The event was sponsored by the Bonita Lakes Mall and Centurytel.
