A Franklin County grand jury indicted a Russellville woman for attempting to poison her spouse in February 2006.
Franklin County Sheriff Larry Plott said that Jaime Sheffield, 46, of 21 McGee Lane in Russellville, poisoned her spouse after an argument.
"Ms. Sheffield and the victim got into an argument, and she decided to add poison to his dinner after the argument," Plott said.
The victim in the case was flown to UAB Hospital where he remained for several weeks, while recoving from the incidet.
Sheffield was arrested at the time of the poisoning, and released on bond in the case.
According to the Alabama Criminal Code, attempted murder is a Class A felony, which is punishable with 10 years to life in prison upon conviction.
