HODGES – Two sisters were arrested and charged Wednesday with possession of a controlled substance after it was discovered they were mailing methadone out of state.
Hodges Police Chief Tracey Raper said that Maggie Lynn Stidham, 20, of 102 State Highway 172, and her sister, Britni Ryan Stidham Kirk, 22, of 1939 Co. Highway 172, were taken into custody after he became aware that the pair were mailing drugs out of state.
"They are the subject of a postal investigation, and it was brought to my attention that they were mailing drugs," Raper said.
He added the sisters admitted to mailing drugs one other time. The case is still under investigation by the Postal Inspectors and federal charges may be pending against the pair.
Stidham and Kirk were released on a $2,500 bond from the Franklin County Jail.
