Helen Massey McIntosh, age 97, Atlanta, Georgia (formerly of Florence, Al) passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2007.
She was beloved by her children, Harriet Kathrine McDonald, Muscle Shoals, Al, James H. McIntosh, Florence, Al, John W. McIntosh, Atlanta, Ga, Jean Massey McIntosh, New Orleans, La; sister, Amy Massey Rayner, Orlando, Fl; 10 grandsons, 2 granddaughters; 9 great grandchildren; beloved niece, Beth McIntosh; 2 nieces; 7 nephews.
Lunch was served at 11a.m. at The Coffee Bean, Russellville prior to the visitation at 12 p.m. at Spry Memorial Chapel on Saturday, July 28, 2007 and the funeral services followed at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Rev. Clinton Busler and Rev. Dennis Hasha officiated. Interment will be in Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Curtis Grissom and Floyd Tirey.
She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Florence, Al, United Methodist Church, Russellville and Anne's Episcopal Church, Atlanta, Ga. She was an early member of Phi Beta Phi, Women's Auxiliary, Friendship Sunday school class, Russellville Study Club, Russellville Club and Chapter of Daughters of American Revolution. "Miss Helen" suffered a long illness and conquered it with help of research, excellent medical care and loving friends and relatives in Russellville and Atlanta.
She was a real trooper; her lovely presence will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James H. McIntosh; parents, John Ewing Massey and Hattie Odell Massey; sisters, Elizabeth Crowe, Nancy Teasley, Linda Massey, Jean Massey.
Spry Memorial Chapel assisted the family.
