Congratulations Red Bay, for embracing a milestone
By Staff
Yesterday the City of Red Bay officially recognized its birthday.
Incorporated in 1907, 30 years after establishment, Red Bay is rich with fertile land and rapidly expanding industry.
In those 100 years, Red Bay has grown to be a vital part of the county, and has attracted some of the county's largest and most respected employers.
Sunshine Mills is just one example, makers of Sunshine Dog Food and George Jones Pet Food.
The company has expanded and now markets their products nationwide.
Another company well known across the nation and based in Red Bay is Tiffin Motor Homes, more popularly known as Allegro.
Red Bay is also full of history.
It's considered the home of country music songstress Tammy Wynette and Van Tiffin – the former Alabama Crimson Tide kicker probably most well known for single-footedly handing a loss to Auburn University in 1985.
It's unusual for such a small town to produce two legends in their own right. Our congratulations to Red Bay for marking their 100 year milestone and becoming a place where people want to live, thanks in part to that rich history.
