The Franklin County Domestic Violence Coalition will hold their monthly meeting on Thursday, July 19 at Good Springs Restaurant in Russellville.
The FCDVC is a group made up of law enforcement official, and Safeplace, Inc. volunteers to bring awareness of domestic violence to the community, coalition co-chair Joey Rushing said.
"We are always looking for ways to train law enforcement for domestic violence situations, and to make the community aware of domestic violence," coalition co-chair David Hester said.
Safeplace, Inc. is always looking for volunteers in an effort to get the community involved with stopping domestic violence and child abuse.
"Some of the things that we do are time consuming, and a lot of our committee members have time constraints," Suzanne Swaim with Safeplace, Inc. said.
Hester said that everyone could get involved with Safeplace, Inc. to support the coalition.
"If you can't help with donating time, a financial donation to Safeplace would be greatly appreciated," Hester said. "Any donations to Safeplace are tax deductible."
Annually, the FCDVC helps provide essential training to law enforcement as well as helps provide services such as the Ribbon Campaign, which advertise safe havens for victims of abuse, and other projects like last year's Law Enforcement Appreciation Dinner.
For more information on how to get involved with Safeplace, Inc. and the FCDVC, call 331-0477.
