Eight area baseball teams have advanced to second-round series in the Mississippi High School Activities Association's state playoffs which resume today after a break due to statewide testing.
Second-round series' openers are scheduled for either today or Friday with Game 2 on Saturday and third games, if needed, on Monday.
Lauderdale County still has three teams in the running for state championships Meridian, West Lauderdale, and Clarkdale.
