Even though regular T-ball season ends tomorrow night, the Russellville Parks &Recreation sports staff will have its hands full next month thanks to Tiny Tykes T-ball.
Late registration ends for the league ends this Saturday at the Ralph C. Bishop Center, and the league already has enough players for 12 teams, according to Derrick Dorn, an athletic programmer for the department.
"We have over 120 kids playing so far," Dorn said. "Last year we only had four, maybe five teams with an average of 9 to10 kids on each team.
"This year we'll probably have 12 teams and we'll start with a jamboree on July 7."
The department will host a jamboree on July 7 and the season will conclude by July 31.
"Each team will bat around one time and play one game at the jamboree," Dorn said. "It's mainly for team photos.
"During the regular season, games will last 30 minutes at Hal Kirby Field, and we'll try to give each team eight games to play."
