After almost a year of widening and repaving, a revamped 10th Avenue is almost ready to be unveiled, according to the project designer.
The $2.4 million rehabilitation of one of the city's main thoroughfares includes not only widening and repaving work, but also curb and gutter improvements. The project is 1.9 miles long, stretching from 26th Street to North Hills Street.
The mid-May deadline is in line with the city's contract, according to Sharp.
Local contractor Jellenc Construction has been working on the project since May 2000. The company was given 250 working days roughly one year to complete the effort.
Sharp said the company's hard work is one reason the project is on schedule.
Sharp said citizens living on the road have been gracious in dealing with the construction work.
