Local girls head to Cinderella Scholarship Program

Three Lauderdale County girls are heading to Las Vegas for an experience of a lifetime.
Recently crowned as state winners in the Cinderella Scholarship Program in Philadelphia, Allie Shirley, Kelli Miller and Jordin Johnson will compete in the international competition July 19-23.
Allie, 6, is the daughter of Angie and Roger Shirley and attends Lamar School. She is Mississippi State Cinderella Tot.
Kelli, 10, is the daughter of Sabrina and Bobby Miller and attends Southeast Elementary School. She is Mississippi State Cinderella Mini Miss.
Jordin, 12, is the daughter of Kim and Jeff Jay, and Eugene and Lisa Johnson. She attends Clarkdale Attendance Center and is Mississippi State Cinderella Miss.
All three girls will compete in interview, casual, party wear and talent.
Allie's talent will be tot personality. Jordin will do a lyrical gymnastic routine to "A Whole New World" and Kelli will perform a jazz gymnastic routine to "Stray Cat Strut."
Allie will also compete in AAMTC talent in which she will perform four dance routines aero-jazz, tap, ballet and jazz.
The girls will attend theme parties and be judged on their interaction with the other participants.
Other girls from the area traveling to Las Vegas to compete are Hannah Chisolm, Mia Hall and Kristen Smith.
The Cinderella program is a youth development, family-oriented activity that offers achievement through scholarship opportunities and training for young ladies. The program is the largest of its kind in the world. A strong belief in moral values and a strict code of ethics has won wide acclaim for the system as a worthwhile youth development program building self-esteem and self-worth in those who participate.
State Cinderella directors are Pat Gray and Richelle Gray of Meridian.
