Charlotte Scott, director of Mission Meridian, said Friday that she and her staff were saddened by the news of Reginald Weary's death.
Weary, 27, was the son of the Rev. Dolphus Weary, executive director of Mission Mississippi. Mission Meridian is the local chapter of Mission Mississippi, a statewide organization that promotes racial reconciliation through religion.
Reginald Weary led Pearl Police on a chase that ended with a fatal crash in Jackson on Wednesday night.
Scott said funeral services for Weary will be Sunday at 11 a.m. at Mendenhall Bible Church, 309 Center St., Mendenhall. She said a caravan will leave from the Mission Meridian office at 9:30 a.m. that day for the funeral.
For more information about the caravan, call Mission Meridian at 693-1332.
