Materials produced by Meridian Community College's promotions and public relations department during this past year won in the five categories entered at the annual College Public Relations Association of Mississippi's awards ceremony.
The CPRAM awards ceremony honored senior and community college winners at a banquet in Natchez. MCC competed with other public and private colleges.
MCC won awards for the Foundation magazine Connections, the pedestal ad series, the view book, and the image television commercial. MCC received a second place overall award for community service that was presented to MCC and MSU Meridian for the partners in education events.
An out-of-state university with public relations departments similar to the colleges and universities in CPRAM judged all of the work submitted to the competition in the fall.
The staff of College Promotions, Sandy Bynum, Kay Dufour and Daniel Ethridge produced the winning entries. Sandy Bynum was elected to serve as a member of the CPRAM board of directors and as the awards chair for 2005.
