State Game participants who played in last Saturday's two-person volleyball endured a tiring day of spiking action.
The games began at 9:15 a.m. and ended at 7:30 p.m. Commissioner for two- and four-person volleyball Scott Gray said that many of the two person participants will return this weekend to compete in four-person volleyball action.
Gray said the competition level was the highest it's ever been in the State Games, and expects more of the same in four-person.
Gold medal winners in two person volleyball action Brandon Nash of Corinth and Marlon Thorton of Booneville will team with the silver medal winners Keith Haney of Tupelo and Steve Gore of Starkville in four-person action.
The action will be at the Meridian High Practice Field, with play beginning at 9 a.m. There is a $40 entry fee to enter. Teams can have up to six players, with a $5 charge for additional players.
There will be men's A, B, and C, division, as well as a women's division, based on the number of teams entered.
USVBA rules will be in effect. There is a maximum of 24 teams allowed, with each team being guaranteed six games.
