Mr. and Mrs. Everette Springfield of York, Ala., announce the engagement of their daughter, Jennifer Lu, to Brian Keith Smith, son of B.K. Smith of Silas, Ala., and Katherine Lewis of Gilbertown, Ala.
The wedding will be Saturday, Aug. 2, 2003, at 3 p.m. at York Baptist Church in York, Ala.
Miss Springfield is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter Springfield, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Romauldo Aben.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Sumter Academy in York and an honor graduate of East Mississippi Community College. She received an associate degree in nursing from the University of West Alabama.
Miss Springfield is employed with Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian.
Mr. Smith is the grandson of Ann Bumpers of Livingston and the late B. K. Smith of Silas, and Betsy McCaa of Buckatunna and the late Jesse Lee McCaa.
The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Southern Choctaw High School in Silas and received an associate's degree in nursing from Jones County Junior College.
Mr. Smith is employed by Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian.
A reception will be held in the church fellowship hall following the ceremony. Family and friends are invited to attend.
