Nine-year-olds Logan Miles, left, Taylor Carroll and Grant Hill show off their soapbox derby cars Monday as they get ready for Saturday's race in downtown Meridian.
Fifteen boy racers and five girl racers will compete. Carroll's No. 25 car and Hill's No. 14 car are sponsored by H&H Specialties, and Miles' No. 7 car is sponsored by H&H Residential.
The soapbox derby is set for Saturday morning, with opening ceremonies at 8:30 a.m. and the race at 9 a.m. The race route will be 23rd Avenue from 12th Street to Ninth Street.
