Services for Arlin Clark Terry Sr., were held Saturday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Raymond Leake officiating. Burial was in Magnolia Cemetery. James F. Webb Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Terry, 87, of Meridian, died Friday, June 6, 2003, at Riley Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Jane O'Dell Terry; two sons, Arlin Clark "Butch" Terry Jr. and Roland Franklin "Pete" Terry Sr.; four sisters, Wilma Flanagon, Hazel Terry, Elizabeth McKiethen and Eloise Terry; a brother, the Rev. Wallace Terry; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services for Jennifer Long will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church with the Rev. Jerry Daniels officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Miss Long, 27, of Meridian, died Friday, June 6, 2003 in Birmingham, Ala.
Survivors include her parents, Carol Ann and Frank Long of Meridian; two uncles, Michael Carson of Meridian and Donald Carson and his wife, Susan, of Gulfport; two aunts, Louise C. Ivey and her husband, Gene, and Donna Carson all of Meridian; a great aunt, Jo Bullock of Meridian; and eight cousins.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Jane and Joe Carson and her paternal grandparents, Frank T. Long Sr., and Frances E. Long.
The family requests memorials be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church, the American Cancer Society, the National Kidney Foundation or a favorite charity.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Prayer service will begin at 7 p.m.
Graveside services for Virgie Faulkner Smith will be held Monday at 3 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Roy Dabbs officiating. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Smith, 76, of Meridian, died Friday, June 6, 2003, at Riley Nursing Center. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Janie Stewart and her husband, Tom, of McCall, Idaho, and Donna Carmichael and her husband, Videt, of Meridian; a brother, Teddy Faulkner and his wife, Lynn, of Meridian; a sister, Clea Williamson and her husband, Johnny, of Indianola; grandchildren, Christopher Stewart and his wife, Tammy, Jon Stewart, Sean Stewart, Kaycee Crane and her husband, Charles, Fredie Carmichael and his wife, Sara, and Brandy Draughon; and great-grandchildren, Landon Gibson and Jodee Crane.
She was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Richard Draughon; three brothers, Henry Owen Faulkner, Charles Faulkner and Billy Faulkner; and her parents, Charles Owen Faulkner and Retha Irene Webb Faulkner.
Visitation will be Monday from 1 p.m.-2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
QUITMAN Services for Ida McCrae will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Quitman with the Revs. Ray Arrington and Kevin Carter officiating. Burial will be in James Chapel Cemetery. Berry &Gardner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Ms. McCrae, 69, of Quitman, died Thursday, June 5, 2003, at Rush Foundation Hospital. She was a nurse at Lakeside Nursing Center.
Survivors include a son, Terrence McCrae of Rockford, Ill.; two daughters, Sheila Armstead of Douglasville, Ga. and Geneva Woodards of Peoria, Ariz.; four sisters, Geneva Johnson of Bellville, Ill., Arlean Brockman, Vertie Davis and Irma Cameron, all of Quitman; two brothers, Jervett McCrae of Detroit and Edsel McCrae of Bellville; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday from 5:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. at the funeral home in Quitman.
Services for Wanda Jean Hill will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Berry &Gardner Funeral Home with the Rev. Craig Tucker officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery.
Ms. Hill, 53, of Collinsville, died Tuesday, June 3, 2003, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include five sons, Timothy Hill and his wife, Tomeko, Quincy Hill, Dominick Hill and Jonathan Hill, all of Meridian, and Herbert Smith III and his wife, Anna, of Birmingham, Ala.; a daughter, Robin Denise Bell of Meridian; a loving and devoted friend, Jeffery Crowell of Meridian; five brothers, Ulma James Hill, Eddie Charles Hill, William K. Hill and Tracy Lavern Hill and his wife, Carol, all of Meridian, and Broderick Hill and his wife, DeAnna, of Birmingham; four sisters, Juanita Hill of San Jos, Calif., Vanessa Ann Hill and Stacy Lavern Hill, both of Meridian, and Marie Annette Hill of Lakeland, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be Monday from 5:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Services for Walter Welch will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Collinsville. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Berry &Gardner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Welch, 84, of Collinsville, died Wednesday, June 4, 2003, at his home. He was retired from the maintenance department of the Meridian Public School District.
Survivors include his wife, Minnie Lee Welch of Collinsville; four daughters, Mary Lee Thomas and Mavis Lanier, both of Collinsville, Bobbie Chaney of Sandusky, Ohio, and Minnie Billups of Detroit; three sons, Barney Welch and his wife, Doris, of Charlotte, S.C., Walter Welch Jr., and his wife, Beatrice, of Sandusky, and Larry Welch and his wife, Belinda, of Meridian; a sister, Iva D. Simmons of Kosciusko; and 26 grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday from 7 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
