JACKSON Alabama Gov. Bob Riley will host a Republican Governor's Association fund-raiser Monday that features Mississippi gubernatorial candidate Haley Barbour.
The event will be held in Birmingham, Ala., and the RGA will use the funds raised to support Barbour and his Republican colleagues who are on the ballot this year.
Riley also cited areas of common interests for Mississippi and Alabama to work together to help build both states. He said he looks forward to "working with Haley on those types of initiatives."
One of them involves more bi-state cooperation in industrial recruitment, including the possibility of an industrial park near the Mississippi-Alabama border.
