Meridian Children's Chorus in concert tonight

Meridian has its share of traditions for the holiday season, including the annual Christmas parade and the lighting of the city's official Christmas tree.
Another one many people may overlook is the Meridian Children's Chorus, which performs seasonal music at St. Patrick Church. The music is varied and highlights the chorus' preparations.
The children work under the direction of Vivian Hurley, who founded the chorus several years ago. They often perform for local organizations and gatherings.
They also have performed with the Meridian Symphony Orchestra and have traveled to perform by invitation at Carnegie Hall, Canada, and, most recently, England.
This year's concert is 6 p.m. tonight at St. Patrick, 2601 Davis St. in downtown Meridian. While admission is free, donations will be accepted.
The Meridian Children's Chorus accepts auditions year-round by appointment. Call 693-7910 for more information.
