Vickie Lynn Borden

Vickie Lynn Borden, age 60, Spruce Pine, passed away May 17 at her residence.

Vickie was a special woman, a kind mother and a friend to everyone.

The visitation will be 1-2 p.m. May 19 at Spry Memorial Chapel, with the funeral following at 2 p.m. in the chapel. Officiating will be Bro. Mikey Scott and Bro. Brian Scott. Burial will be at Old Line Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her infant grandsons, Skyler Cecil Leon Borden and Nathan Gregory McCoy.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Horace Borden; her children, Carolyn Galvez and husband Filiberto Garcia, Jason McCoy and wife Stacey Hathcock McCoy and Rothmer “Ross” McCoy and wife Annette Gregg McCoy; stepsons, Tommy Borden and Horace Borden Jr.; grandchildren, Savana Nacole Borden, Ariana Ofelia Galvez, Lucio, Camila and Melani Garcia, Gabriel McCoy, Zoe McCoy, Colin McCoy, Caitlin McCoy, Hunter Bennett, Bethany Bennett, Samantha Leech and Noah Bennett; great-grandchildren, Tatyana Rose Galvez and Sawyer Anderson; 12 brothers and sisters; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The pallbearers will be Calvin Borden, Tommy Borden, Horace Borden Jr. and Patrick Morris.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff of Kindred Hospice for your love and care.
